April Fishing

Fishing in April is always a challenge. The water is warming up, the fish are moving more and their choice of current meal preference changes daily. There might be one crazy thunderstorm that rains out the day and cancels your trip or one day, you might have cooler water temps and the trout are moving good and biting well on live shrimp, the next day the Redfish might be moving more in warmer water biting on shad. Either way, April fishing is always fun. May is coming up and the current trend will continue through June as the waters get more warm and the fish move to their different feeding areas and look for deeper water to move back and forth In from there to the flats. There is also lots to be said about the water levels and tide-slack tide days can be hit or miss days, but your best bet as always is to find a guide who knows the fish and is on the water. I am not saying you have to choose me to take you fishing, but don't be afraid to ask questions and find a guide who knows how to fish-and don't forget to ask others, not just reviews. That will be your best bet to get on the fish and have much better luck bringing home dinner! Until next time, Tight Lines and good times-Capt. Randy
